Thanks, Yelpers, for helping me find this place! I spend a bit of time downriver, so I'm glad I have a new inexpensive place to go. Cheap, I tell you! This place has been here 40 years, and is run by "Mom", a 70-something feisty lady who knows her diner food. It's old school inside, but clean, and you can see straight back into the kitchen, which I appreciate. The servers and other patrons were friendly and chatty - very welcoming to everyone who came in. The food is good. Old school diner classics for breakfast and lunch, and some great looking dinner plates. The guy at the counter ordered the stuffed cabbage and it looked amazing. I ordered the turkey club with fries and a drink and walked out of there with a $6.85 bill. That's less than you'd pay at McDeath! You can get a great meal here for under $10. Now, the turkey is of the standard coney/diner variety - pressed, not real turkey breast, but the sandwich was tasty and the fries were crispy. I should have also tried their soup, which looked homemade. All in all, I will be back. If you're downriver, skip the fast food and head straight here. And it's cash only, so bring your green stuff.

This place is old style, country looking and feeling to it. We came here before my meeting. The cook was very nice. He's actually the owners son who's helping out while his mom recovers. Vikki, our waitress was a bag of skittles and sun shine. She laughs at everything and was super friendly. Come to think of it, everyone is friendly! The food is good. I think everything there is home made. Old recipes from mom. The prices!!!! We had a 4 course meal including tip ..... 20$. So yeah I'd say you get your money's worth. Thank you so much!!!!

Great people & great food!!! Our waitress Vikkie ahhh she's awesome, love her! She's sweet and is ALWAYS laughing!! The owner son was the chef came out was talking with us and everyone was really friendly and personable. It was really nice. We ordered the meatloaf dinner, veggie omelette, pinto bean soup, and pancakes and everything was delicious and home made. The recipes are from "Mom" who is now 72 years old so the recipes have been around for some time. On top of the great food and service all that good only cost $20.45 !!!!! In conclusion, this place is nice, cozy, friendly and any other adjective to describe awesome!!!

I went here yesterday with my Dad. When I seen the prices I was really skeptical this place would be good. I mean a New York strip dinner for 5.80, that was the highest thing on the menu. They have breakfast and different specials everyday. The food is really good and the service is top notch. Very friendly and attentive waitress. I was very pleased. The only con is the coffee. As my father told the waitress, "It will put hair on your chest" But I wasn't going there for coffee, and at those prices, who can complain.

I use to frequent this establishment quite often when I worked in River Rouge. Me and a coworker would go here or lunch. The food served is your basic diner flair. The pancakes were by far my favorite to order. You also got a choice of meat, hash browns and toast. VERY large pancakes that took up the entire plate and too much for myself to finish. Extremely cheap prices and just good old American food. Stop in and try it, you won't be disappointed.
